HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL
(1958)

(From Joe Bob's Ultimate B Movie Guide)

The hottest of all Mamie Van Doren's troubled youth movies, opening with a sizzling Jerry Lee Lewis number and continuing through a lot of groovy jive and dragstrip encounters. The hero is a narc (!) played by Russ Tamblyn, who enrolls in school to ferret out the evil weed. While doing his job he lives with his "aunt," Mamie Van Doren, who's hipper than all the teachers, wears a cashmere sweater nine sizes too small and looks like she's been shot through the back with a couple of Cruise missiles. John Drew Barrymore is the school's cool cat, and Jackie Coogan turns out to be The Pusherman. Also Jan Sterling.
