FIVE GUNS WEST
(1955)

(From Joe Bob's Ultimate B Movie Guide)

Roger Corman's first picture as a director, shot in nine days, using a plot that Corman would reuse several times in his career: hardened criminals who are pardoned so they can do the government's dirty work. In this case they are Civil War prisoners, pardoned by the Confederacy so they can carry out a secret and dangerous mission, traveling through "Indian country." (Unfortunately, Roger had to make do with only one Indian, who repeatedly leaps off the same rock.) John Lund is the good guy, Touch (later Mike) Connors the bad guy, and sexy Dorothy Malone is the love interest.
