DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE
(1920)

(From Joe Bob's Ultimate B Movie Guide)

John Barrymore stars in the most influential version of the Robert Louis Stevenson thriller. John S. Robertson directed from a screenplay by Clara S. Beranger, and many of her embellishments of the tale would remain a permanent part of the Jekyll-Hyde legend. Barrymore made the film while simultaneously performing "Richard III" on Broadway, and the double whammy was so exhausting that he suffered a nervous breakdown. Produced by Famous Players-Lasky Studios.
